A large-scale illegal vehicle rally took place on Saturday, March 8, at 9:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Green Acres Mall on West Sunrise Highway.
Patrol officers and the Problem Oriented Policing Unit responded quickly to the scene. As a result, 40 summonses were issued, two vehicles were impounded, and one individual was arrested.
Justin Walcott, 26, of Saint Albans, was arrested and charged with forgery of a vehicle identification number and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. Walcott also received multiple summonses related to vehicle and traffic violations.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, March 9.
