Queens man arrested in Lawrence linked to Valley Stream overdose

Following the investigation of a 54-year-old Valley Stream man who died of a drug overdose on June 14, detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics Vice Squad arrested Raymond Sanabria in Lawrence on that Tuesday.

At what police said was a predetermined location for the sale of an illegal substance, Sanabria, 43, of 79th Street in Elmhurst, was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be heroin and was arrested by undercover officers outside of the Dunkin’ Donuts at 299 Rockaway Turnpike at 3:24 p.m.

Sanabria is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was released on his own recognizance. His next court date is June 22. The Legal Aid Society of Nassau County is representing him.
