Four people displaced after West Hempstead fire

A fire that severely damaged a home on Woodlawn Road in West Hempstead near 8:30 a.m., on Jan. 11, officials said, has displaced four people, officials said.

The four people got out of the house safely.

Along with the West Hempstead Fire Department, several other departments responded with roughly 100 firefighters getting the blaze under control in about an hour.

Officials said the cause of the fire was accidental.
