Nassau County police arrested a Queens woman early Thursday morning for allegedly stealing the tires and rims off of cars in Valley Stream, and are seeking a second suspect who they believe was also involved.

Police said that at around 3:27 a.m,. a resident on Frank Street had called 911 to report that someone was in the process of stealing the tires and rims off of a white Honda Accord parked there. When officers arrived, they found the car perched atop a floor jack with its tires removed and its passenger-side window broken. Additionally, police reported that they had seen two suspects fleeing the scene, one of whom they were able to arrest.

The woman was identified as 29-year-old Ashley Suarez of Ozone Park. After investigating the scene, police said they found a car parked behind the Honda containing four tires and rims in the back seat. Suarez is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday and is charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree auto stripping and possession of burglary tools.
