Unusual incidents

At 1:49 p.m. on Jan. 6, a resident reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in her name.

A resident reported that someone altered a check she wrote on Jan. 7 at 12:41 p.m.

On Jan. 7 at 1:06 p.m., a resident reported that he was the victim of a gift card scam.

Leaving the scene

At 4:12 p.m. on Jan. 4, a motorist reported that his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while parked on Merrick Road.

On Jan. 3 at 8:45 p.m., a customer reported that someone working at a restaurant placed an unknown substance in her drink on Dec. 31, 2021, which caused her to feel sick.

At 6:07 p.m. on Jan. 3, a resident reported that someone stole his packages from the mailroom of his building.

On Jan. 5 at 5:05 p.m., a resident reported that someone stole his skateboard from the Rockville Centre Public Library.

Criminal mischief

At 3:11 p.m. on Jan. 7, a resident reported that someone damaged his fence.

Graffiti

Graffiti was discovered on the Long Island Rail Road structure in the vicinity of North Forest Avenue on Jan. 8 at 11 a.m.
