What is the response to Proud Boys?
To the Editor:
Hate had a home here, briefly, when the Proud Boys marched in Rockville Centre on Nov. 27. The question is, What will be done in response? How shall we block its return?
Mayor Francis X. Murray’s words at the Dec. 1 “counterprotest” were appropriate and welcome, but lacked deterrent value. “It’s not going to happen here” rings hollow when “it” has already transpired.
Those who raised the question of groups gathering “unannounced, without a permit or village approval” were not answered. Mayor, what is the plan to react and deter?
