Seaford birthday boy’s friendly visit from police

Eugene Klochkoff lives in the Harbor section of Seaford. On Wednesday, March 25, Eugene turned five and his parents had planned a birthday party. They were forced to cancel their son’s birthday party in an effort to adhere to social distancing. Although none of Eugene’s friends or neighbors were able to attend, some watched on as the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) visited the Seaford home to wish him a happy birthday.

Officers from NCPD’s Seventh Precinct, located on Merrick Road in Seaford, rolled up in a caravan of squad cars – one of which carried Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder – to bring Eugene some birthday joy. Deputy Inspector Gus Kalin played Eugene “Happy Birthday,” on his trumpet from the street.

Ryder and the Seventh Squad gifted the birthday boy a NCPD hat, a reusable water bottle and a bag.
