Amityville man and woman arrested for larcenies in Nassau communities

Nassau police arrested two Amityville residents on June 15 for multuple larcenies in four Nasau County communities   in June of last year.

The man - Jose Castro, 41 - and the woman - Lolita Carbajal, 42 -  allegedly stole assorted items from clothing bins in Bethpage, North Bellmore, East Meadow and Wantagh.

They allegedly also redistributed the bins and sold the donated clothing for profit. They were both arrested at home on Banbury Court.

The investigation took place across eleven months. According to police, the thieves netted $17,000 off of stolen items.

Castro is charged with three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and three counts of criminal possession of stolen property, while Carbajal is charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larcency and four counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

Issued appearance tickets, Castro and Carabajal's nect court date in June 29.
