Merrick Theatre presents:
The Merrick Theatre & Center for the Arts presents the first semi-autobiographical play of Neil Simon: "Brighton Beach Memoirs," starting Jan. 8 and running through Jan. 30. In Brooklyn of 1937, young Eugene Jerome begins to observe life through a funny, poignant and all-too-human point of view. Ticket prices at $20, students and seniors gets discount prices of $16 on Fridays and Sundays. Performance times at Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The theatre is located at 2222 Hewlett Ave. in Merrick. Call (516) 868-6400 for more information.

Mystery theatre
The Knights of Columbus St.Mary's Maris Stella Council 2228, located at 78 Hempstead Ave. on Lynbrook, will host  a night of mystery dinner theatre on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 8 p.m. to midnight. The "Knights of the round-table conspiracies" admission fee is $50 per person, or two for $90, which includes full buffet, beer, wine and soda, dancing and a night of mystery theatre. Free medical equipment
The National Amputation Foundation, located at 40 Church St. in Malverne, has a free donated durable medical equipment give-a-way program open to anyone in need. Equipment includes wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, commodes, crutches and canes. Items must be picked up at the office. Please call (516) 887-3600 for more information.

12-step support meetings
Spouses, families and friends affected by someone's sexually addictive behavior, or the individual him/herself, can attend weekly 12-step support group meetings, which run through Jan. 31 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Nassau County. Call (347) 531-5977 for more information.
