Motorist dead after crash in West Hempstead

A 66-year-old man is dead after a car accident on the evening of Thursday, June 30 in West Hempstead. The victim was driving a Chevy SUV when he collided with a Toyota Camry being driven by a 41-year-old woman at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Front Street, according to the Nassau County Police Department. The crash resulted in the man’s SUV striking a pole. The victim was brought to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other driver did not report any injuries and declined medical treatment.
