Nassau County police reported on Saturday the arrested of two West Hempstead women for allegedly forging checks and using the debit card of a 76-year-old woman at the Valley Stream Target.
According to detectives, on Aug. 17, Kiondra Bullocks-Bassoo, 33, allegedly deposited two forged checks belonging to an elderly woman for whom she was a home health aid. Additionally, police reported that on Aug. 5 Stephanie Fletcher, 36, who reportedly lives in the same Woodfield Road home as Bullocks-Bassoo, allegedly used the elderly woman’s debit card to make two fraudulent transactions at the Valley Stream Target.
Police arrested Fletcher on Nov. 3, and charged her with fourth-degree possession of stolen property, third-degree identity theft and third-degree petit larceny. Bullocks-Bassoo was arrested on Nov. 20, police said and charged with attempted grand larceny, first-degree identity theft, second-degree identity theft and third degree possession of a forged instrument and personal ID. Police reportedly do not know the relationship between the two.
