Overcast Retirement celebration upcoming for religious education director

A retirement celebration for Mary Ann Pellegrino, who has served as the director of the religious education program at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in West Hempstead for 22 years, will be held on Oct. 24.
“She has had an impact on so many children and families in West Hempstead,” said Cindy Sobiesiak, pastoral associate at the church.
Pellegrino will be honored during the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the church on Oct. 24 and afterwards at the commentary reception, which is open to the public.
