West Hempstead resident makes strides against breast cancer

Posted

PSEG Long Island employee Donato Barrucco, of West Hempstead, joined more than 1,000 coworkers along with their family members and friends on the morning of Oct. 20 to fight breast cancer in the annual American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones Beach.
The walk is the largest in the country. It is a five-mile, non-competitive walk on the boardwalk that celebrates survivorship and supports the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research, education, programs and services.
PSEG Long Island was a flagship sponsor once more, and its 33 employee teams raised more than $60,000 to date, not including the company’s matching gifts. In addition, PSEG Long Island had the most participants and second most donations raised.
Last year, PSEG Long Island employees logged 26,000 service hours, volunteering at 1,145 fundraising and community events to support more than 400 organizations. To learn more about PSEG Long Island’s community involvement, go to bit.ly/35Ve1X7.
