The Town of Hempstead is currently distributing coats, clothing, blankets and other supplies at three locations in and around Baldwin. The centers will be open as long as supplies last. Residents can call to check on the status of these centers at (516) 489-6000.

• Oceanside Park: 3800 Mahlon Brower Drive
• Newbridge Road Park: 2600 Newbridge Road, Bellmore

     The town has also organized a collection drive for additional coats, clothing, blankets and other hurricane-relief items; collection bins are currently stationed at:

• Hempstead Town Hall: 1 Washington Street, Hempstead
• Echo Park: 399 Nassau Boulevard, West Hempstead
• Levittown Hall: 201 Levittown Parkway, Hicksville

     The closest Town warming center is located at the Baldwin Senior Center, 1810 North Grand Ave.

     The Echo Park Indoor Pool and Athletic Complex, located at 399 Nassau Blvd. in West Hempstead, has also been opened to those seeking warm showers. The facility is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
