Former New York Giant Keith Davis and former New England Patriot Devin Wyman served as keynote speakers when the Winners Inc. program visited Baldwin High School on May 25. The appearance was spearheaded by the efforts of Assemblyman Brian Curran (R - Lynbrook,) who felt that the presence of the two distinguished speakers would bolster spirits in Baldwin.
“Baldwin is currently experiencing very tough economic times with the closure of two elementary schools, the closure of the 1st Police Precinct, job loss and several other issues,” Curran said. “I personally experienced a mentoring conference that these two outstanding gentlemen participated in, and I have to say without reservation that this was the best, most moving and most poignant motivational program for children that I have ever seen.”
Winners Inc. is a motivational program featuring former NFL players Davis and Wyman spreading a message of hope, hard work, achievement and tenacity. “This program will be important to the students of Baldwin’s success as they move forward through the recent hardships experienced in their community,” said Curran.
The program was also made possible by donations from Cablevision, Molloy College and the Kate and Isaac Brody Foundation.
