Baldwin school board will not raise elementary class sizes or eliminate H.S. late buses next year

Though raising classes at elementary schools and eliminating high school late-running buses seemed almost a sure thing at last week's Budget Workshop Session, the Baldwin school board announced last night that it would not be taking either action.

Instead, district officials announced that they would be trimming $1.5 million from next year's spending plan by not filling currently vacant positions and also by eliminating elementary class sections that have experienced lower enrollment.

The board postponed a vote on adoption of the district budget to April 13.
