Lynbrook legislator to go up against longtime Congresswoman McCarthy in November

It looks like Nassau County Legislator Francis X. Becker (R-Lynbrook) will face Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy for her seat once again in November.
According to the Nassau County Board of Elections website, Becker garnered 55 percent of the vote (6,357) to opponenet Frank J. Scaturro's 45 percent (5,175). This total is with all of the districts reporting, but is still unofficial. (lipolitics.com had Becker getting 62 percent of the votes.
McCarthy will be seeking her 9th term in office, having first been elected in 1996.
