Ducks rescued

Members of the Nassau County Police Department and Baldwin Fire Department rescued seven baby ducks that were stuck down a sewer drain on the corner of Bedell Street and Loft Avenue on July 10.

Concerned residents discovered something unusual in a sewer drain on July 10: baby ducks. Following the discovery, they contacted the Nassau County Police and Baldwin Fire Department to lead the rescue effort on the corner of Bedell Street and Loft Avenue in Baldwin.

A Nassau County police officer climbed into the sewer with the help of the BFD to rescue seven baby ducks and remove them from the sewer. The baby ducks were placed in a recycle bin and then rightfully reunited with their mother.
