Siberon, 62, is a 19-year resident of Baldwin. He is married and has a 9-year-old daughter in third grade at Lenox School. He currently works as the executive director for the Hempstead Hispanic Civic Association.

He has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Queens College, a Masters of Social Work Degree from Fordham University, and a Masters of Public Administration Degree from Baruch College. In the community, Siberon is a member of the St. Christopher's Church parish, vice president of legislation for the Lenox PTA, and a parent member of the school site base team at Lenox.

Siberon said he believes that there is "a lack of accountability" from the current school board, which, at times, has frustrated him and other residents. He described being concerned at the board's decision to hire James Scannell as the district's Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, not long after Scannell stepped down from the school board.

Siberon said the board needs someone who can advocate for the district at the state level. As the former executive director of the Nassau County Youth Board, Siberon met often with state lawmakers to express the importance of supporting Nassau's youth.

"I believe I have the experience, education and commitment to make a difference in the Baldwin school system," Siberon said. Because of my prior experiences, I am known in Albany by many of the legislators, who are the ultimate decision makers."
