Rain and hail stop in time for Spring Swing

Posted

On April 9th, blue skys peaked through just in time for the start of the Baldwin Civic Association’s Spring Swing and Bazaar, formerly known as the Eggstravaganza to start at Baldwin Park. Stopped for two years due to Covid-19, it nearly seemed like families would again have to take a rain check.

However, with events proceeding as normal, families shopped at a variety of vendor booths, watched talented local acts take on the main stage, took pictures with the Easter bunny and hunted for eggs by the tennis courts of Baldwin Harbor Park.

Sheree Nicole, the coordinator, and fundraiser for the event was happy families came out to enjoy a family-oriented day at the park. “I think the community appreciated coming out and being together again, we got a really good turnout, so I’m happy at the end of the day...Baldwin is a wonderful place to be [and] I want to thank the Baldwin High schoolers who volunteered their time.”

The Baldwin Civic Association is a non-profit that’s mission is to “foster our wonderfully diverse community and maintain the quality of life in Beautiful Baldwin,” according to their website. For more information on the association please visit their website: https://www.baldwincivic.org/home.html.
