Close to two inches of rain had been measured in the Baldwin area as of 8 p.m. Tuesday, and rain was expected to continue through Wednesday morning.
Parts of Baldwin have already experienced minor flooding, including areas near Bay Colony Beach and Milburn Creek Park.
Coast flood and high surf advisories will be in effect in the Nassau County area for about three hours beginning tonight at 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Beach erosion and minor flooding along low-lying areas is expected.
