Remember to vote on the library budget May 15

The Baldwin Public Library urges all residents to vote on the proposed library budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year on Tuesday, May 15, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Baldwin High School.

The 2012-13 budget presented significant challenges due to the New York State two percent property tax cap, substantial increases in state-mandated expenses and increases in insurance premium costs. The library trustees worked hard to balance the excellent services you expect with present economic realities, minimizing the burden on homeowners. Our commitment to quality service, programs and materials remains constant as we exercise stringent control over increases.

Please support the proposed budget so that we can maintain the Library as a strong anchor in the community with resources that are valuable, supportive and enriching for residents of all ages.
