Reverend Jose Pichardo, the founding pastor of the Blessing House Christian Church in Baldwin, was presented with the 2009 Hispanic Heritage Award at the Town of Hempstead's annual celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Rev. Jose Pichardo, the founding pastor of the Blessing House Christian Church in Baldwin, was presented with the 2009 Hispanic Heritage Award at the Town of Hempstead's annual celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Pichardo was honored for his humanitarian efforts and dedication to the Hispanic community. Born in the Dominican Republic, he has developed outreach programs that provide food and clothing to the community’s needy and homeless.
Supervisor Kate Murray presented the award to Pichardo.
