Sen. Fuschillo sponsoring prostate screenings

New York State Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr., in conjunction with the Integrated Medical Foundation and Bostwick Laboratories, will be sponsoring a no out-of-pocket cost prostate cancer screening program on Monday, Aug. 9, in Freeport.

Screenings will be conducted from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Freeport Library,144 West Merrick Road, said Fuschillo, a Republican from Merrick.

All men are welcome to get screened as part of the program, regardless of whether they have insurance. Screenings will include a digital rectal exam and a PSA blood test. Men who will be getting screened must bring a photo ID with an address, such as a driver’s license. Participants will be notified of the exam results. There is no out-of-pocket cost to participate in the program.

Appointments for the screenings will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Men who would like to schedule an appointment should call Fuschillo’s office at (516) 882-0630.
