Meadow Elementary students pay a visit to Baldwin Historical Museum

When the Baldwin Historical Society and Museum recently opened its display cases to artifacts from the Fire Department, officials decided to extend their tour to the younger set.

Students from Meadow Elementary School took a field trip on Nov. 19 to the museum to learn about the history of their community. The visit marked the first time a Baldwin school came to the Historical Museum since the institution reopened two years ago.

The kids got an eyeful of old Baldwin, from antique bicycles to vintage photographs to an obsolete fire alarm — a fire cry from the cell phones they’re used to using in emergencies.
