It was the day before Halloween, but on Saturday the streets of Bellmore were taken over by witches and goblins. The Bellmore Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Halloween parade under a chilly fall sky.
Parade participants stepped off at the Bellmore firehouse on Pettit Avenue and headed up Bedford Avenue. Hundreds of children in costume proceeded throughout the village with spooky music broadcast in the background. After the parade, local businesses with the “Mr. Pumpkin” decal handed out candy and treats to those in costume.
