Bellmore Little League field house vandalized

The field house at Bruce H. Gary Memorial Field of Heroes was vandalized sometime on the night of July 20, said Steve Kropp, president of the Bellmore Little League. The baseball field, which sits on the Reinhard Early Childhood Center's property, is used during the Little League season.

Kropp said that it appeared the vandals had been drinking, as empty malt liquor bottles were found near the field house. The steel fire door on the shed was damaged. The vandals weren't able to break down the door, but "they bent the door out," Kropp said.

Randy Yee, the Bellmore School District clerk, said that no damage had been done to the Reinhard school itself.
