Bellmore man killed in crash on Merrick Road

Bellmorite Miguel Romero was killed in a crash on Merrick Road on Sunday.

A Bellmore man was killed in a single-car crash early Sunday morning, Nassau County Police said. Miguel Romero, 28, of Bellmore, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord in an eastbound lane of Merrick Road. According to police, Romero’s car veered off the road and collided with a parked car before striking the side of Republic Lighting, at 2355 Merrick Road in Bellmore. Police pronounced him dead at the scene.
The car was impounded for testing, and no criminal charges had been filed at press time on Monday. Police did not say why Romero ran his car off the road.
