Car crashes into North Bellmore home

An unknown motorist crashed a car into a North Bellmore home early Thursday morning.

According to Joseph Domiano, second assistant chief of the North Bellmore Fire Department, a car smashed into the garage of a Dewey Avenue home just before 1 a.m. on May 21. When firefighters arrived on the scene, however, no one was in the vehicle.

Domiano also said at press time that the cause of the accident was unknown and under investigation by the Nassau County Police Department. No one was home at the time of the crash.

Domiano said damage to the garage was extensive. Firefighters were on hand for about one hour to make sure the structure was sound.
