Connect Church changes start time of 'EGGcellent Adventure'

A Bellmore church has announced that their Easter event will start at a different time on Saturday. 

Connect Church, located at 2658 Corner Lane, will be hosting its “EGGcellent Adventure” event on Saturday, April 12. The event was originally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Now, it will begin at 1 p.m.  

The Easter-themed event at the church, situated on the corner of West Alder and Corner Lane, features a hunt for thousands of candy-filled eggs, music, an inflatable bouncer, obstacle course and a video game truck. Admission and all activities are free and open to the public.

The “EGGcellent Adventure” at Connect Church will end at 3 p.m. Just before the event, the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores will present its annual Easter parade to the community.

Children and their families participating in the parade will meet at 11:45 a.m. at the Bellmore firehouse on Pettit Avenue. At noon, residents will parade up Bedford Avenue alongside the Easter Bunny to Oak Street, where they can take photos in a spring setting with everyone’s favorite rabbit. Parents must bring their own cameras.

Before the parade, each child will receive plastic Easter eggs filled with candy, compliments of the chamber. The children will also receive coupons for free ice cream cones, compliments of International Delight Café at 322 Bedford Ave. In addition, participating youngsters will receive coupons for free cupcakes, compliments of Nancy The Cupcake Lady, at 535 Bedford Ave.
