Departments respond to fire on Frisch Place in North Bellmore

Nassau County Police Department Arson Bomb Squad detectives reported the details of a house fire that occurred on Sunday, March 15, at 12:30 p.m. in North Bellmore.

According to detectives, officers responded to a fire at a home on Frisch Place. Upon arrival, officers found the home engulfed in flames and its occupants waiting outside. Five fire departments reported to the scene — including North Bellmore, East Meadow, Merrick, North Merrick and Bellmore — and were able to extinguish the fire. One member of the North Bellmore Fire Department was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officials said the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but that its nature appears non-criminal. The investigation is ongoing.
