Kennedy High School senior Max Krackow was recently named a semifinalist in the prestigious Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Krackow was one of 2,100 semifinalists selected from a pool of 71,000 students.

Krackow, Kennedy’s valedictorian, is an Advanced Placement Scholar with honors, and a member of the National, French, Science, Math and Tri-M Music honor societies. He is also a standout on the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District swim team and a trumpet player.

In April, the Coca-Cola Foundation will award $3 million in scholarships. Fifty National Scholars will receive $20,000 each, and 200 Regional Scholars will receive $10,000 each. Two additional $20,000 scholarships will be awarded by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, including the Coca-Cola Emory Scholarship and the Sandy Williams Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Scholars are selected based on their academic achievements as well as school and community involvement.
