Love was in the air at the Bellmore Memorial Library long before Valentine’s Day, as patrons gathered to attend a chocolate-making class on Feb. 3. There, instructor Susan Ackerman of Chocolicious showed guests how to temper chocolate and pour it into heart-shaped lollipop molds.
After the pops cooled in the fridge, the patrons put their pastry skills to the test and decorated the treats with edible paints and heart-shaped candies. They also dipped sweet and salty snacks into the melted chocolate to create chocolate-covered Oreos, pretzels, marshmallows, popcorn and graham crackers.
Guests left with a bag of treats to take home — that is if they didn’t eat them first!
