Police arrested a North Bellmore man Friday, alleging that he is responsible for a graffiti spree in the Bellmore area.

According to Nassau County police, Jacob Guzman, 18, of McKinley Avenue, was arrested after police received a call from “a group of youths” who observed him spray painting graffiti on the Newbridge Road School building.

At the scene, police said, officers found graffiti including the phrases “F*** the police,” “Flushtown,” “Flushing,” “162 St” and “$mt.” According to police, the same phrases had recently been found painted on businesses and a private home in the area.

While at the scene, police heard an alarm sounding at the Facilities Management building across the schoolyard, where they found an access door kicked in and Guzman inside. Police said they arrested Guzman without incident, finding a set of keys for the facility on him, as well as a “Dragon Fly” pin that belonged to a building employee and a small amount of marijuana.

Guzman was charged with third degree burglary, 11 total counts of criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday, Nov. 12 in Hempstead First District Court.
