North Bellmorite tops in her class at Holy Trinity High School

Danielle DiGrazia of North Bellmore was recently named valedictorian of the class of 2012 at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville, according to Principal Gene Fennell.

DiGrazia came to Holy Trinity from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School in Bellmore. During her four years of high school, she was captain of the varsity soccer and softball teams and also played varsity basketball. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Math Fax, and this year she was a member of the school’s Academic Challenge team, participating in “The Challenge” on Cablevision’s MSG Varsity station. Her faith is also important to her, as she was part of the school’s L.I.G.H.T. program (Living in God Holy Together), a group of seniors that works with the campus ministry program on retreats for underclassmen, school-wide liturgies and other major school events. All the while, DiGrazia maintained a weighted grade point average of 108.8.

DiGrazia will be continue her education at Fordham University, where she plans to major in accounting.

Her guidance counselor, Jeanne Carbone, said, “Danielle has been a pleasure to work with.She has balanced the most demanding course schedule with being athree-sport athlete for four years.Danielle's natural abilities and competitive drive have helped her to achieve the ultimate academic success at Holy Trinity.Her kind and caring demeanor have allowed her to build relationships and have made her a role model and great friend.She is an outstanding young woman and will surely continue to shine at Fordham.”
