School's out –– sledding's in at Newbridge Road Park

Posted

The temperature's in the mid-30s. There's a foot of snow on the ground. There's no school. What to do?

For Bellmore-Merrick kids, the answer is obvious: Go sledding at Newbridge Road Park in Bellmore.

On Thursday morning, with the sun beaming over a sheet of white, dozens of local children were zipping down the park's big hill on plastic sleds, inner tubes and even snowboards. And the Herald was there to catch the action.
