Utility worker sustains injuries in North Merrick fall

A utility worker was injured on April 18 in North Merrick, after officials say he fell from a ladder while working in front of a home on Elliot Place. 

The North Merrick Fire Department responded to the scene around 2:45 on Tuesday afternoon, and found a male victim hanging upside down, approximately 15 feet off the ground. 

According to the NMFD, the victim was safely removed from the utility lines, with the help of the Nassau County Police Department's First Precinct and Emergency Services Unit. 

He was transported to an area hospital by Bellmore-Merrick EMS to be treated for minor injuries on  his hands and abdomen.
