East Rockaway Fire Department hosts Expo

Community members got a chance to meet their fire chiefs and members of the volunteer East Rockaway Fire Department as they hosted their annual Fire Expo at the Grant Avenue Firehouse.

Interactive displays about fires and other emergencies were available, as well as handouts and other informative materials. Sparky the Fire Dog was also on hand to help the children learn what to do in an emergency.

“It was a good day, the weather held up and it was well attened by children and adults alike who enjoyed the fire truck rides and learned about fire safety,” said Fire Chief Ed Reicherter. “Sparky the fire dog handed out bags of fire prevention materials to all. I would like to thank the fire prevention committee on a job well done.”
