The Dance Space student Jordan Palmese was accepted into the prestigious Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive program, a program that exposes students to a rigorous and exciting ballet program.

Jordan has been dancing at The Dance Space since the studio opened in 2006. A hard worker and accomplished dancer, Jordan is the current Dance Space scholarship winner and takes more than eight dance classes a week. She is also training to be a dance teacher and is currently interning as a teacher’s assistant. She went through an extremely rigorous audition process in order to be accepted into the program. Auditions for this program were held on a national level.

“I am so proud of Jordan and her accomplishments,” said Lauren Quaranta, dance teacher and owner of The Dance Space. “She is a pleasure to have in class and is the ideal student. She values the concept of hard work and dedication, and consistently practices and challenges herself in dance everyday. She is often found practicing in a spare dance room and or helping others. She is always the first to offer assistance to her fellow classmates and our younger students, even staying after class hours to review choreography or offer advice. Besides dancing, she values her academic education and holds an impressive GPA. Congratulations Jordan — you deserve it!”

The Joffrey Ballet is a dance company in Chicago, Illinois and New York City founded in 1956. The company regularly performs classical ballets including Romeo & Juliet and The Nutcracker. Many prolific choreographers have worked with the Joffrey including Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine, and founders Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey. Its summer program invites master teachers who challenge each student to reach the peak of their potential.
