Per Sempre Lodge #2344 was instituted into the New York Grand Lodge, Order Sons of Italy in America on October 5, 1975. It began as an auxiliary to the Per Sempre Lodge, but became its own lodge on Feb. 2, 1977. Both lodges called the town of Rosedale, Queens their home for over ten years, and quickly became active members in the community, sponsoring sports teams, instituting scholarships in local schools and marching proudly with our banner in local parades. In 1998, they moved to the town of Cedarhurst, Long Island. Once again, they became an active part of the community.

In August 2001, they moved to a new home in Lynbrook where they began to stake roots into the community by donating food baskets for Thanksgiving to Our Lady of Peace Church — and they continue that tradition until today. In May of the following year, members of the lodge contacted Lynbrook High School and began awarding Dante Medals and monetary awards to graduating seniors who excelled in the Italian language.

Both lodges joined the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce and became supportive of all their endeavors. They have been involved in the Lynbrook Spring Street Fair and have actively participated in various other Chamber fundraising events. On several occasions they sponsored “Operation Shoe Box” for men and women in the armed forces stationed overseas. Letters were sent from the lodges to businesses in the Lynbrook area explaining this project and requesting donations. With the generosity of the community, they were able to mail over forty care packages on three different occasions.

Together, both the Per Sempre Lodge and the Per Sempre Ladies Lodge have been mainstays in three communities over the past thirty years. They continue to work together — seeking new membership, working vigorously to maintain their current membership, and always portraying a positive image of the Italian American and of the Order Sons of Italy in America.
