Overcast Annie Oakley comes to East Rockaway
Plaza Productions, Inc. stages 'Annie Get Your Gun' in Memorial Park
Sharp-shooting Annie Oakley and friends came to town on July 11 when Plaza Productions, Inc. presented “Annie Get Your Gun” in East Rockaway’s Memorial Park.
Irving Berlin's colorful musical, set in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, tells the story of Annie Oakley’s first meeting with Frank Butler and the ensuing contest of wills and budding romance between the two
Annie, played by Jordan Smith, of Merrick, brought to life such songs as “Doin' What Comes Natur'lly” and teamed up with Butler, played by Jason Schoenberger, of East Rockaway, for the funny “Anything You Can Do.”
Other local thespians include Thea and Tommy Sieban and Melanie Glatman, all of East Rockaway.
