Two arrested for grand larceny in Lynbrook

The Fifth Squad reports two arrests for Grand Larceny that occurred on Oct. 23 at 12:21 a.m. in Lynbrook.

According to detectives, the two defendants, one from Brooklyn and the other from East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania, stole a 2010 Infiniti G37 convertible color white from Legacy Infiniti located at 855 Sunrise Highway. 

Lynbrook Police officers observed the defendant driving the vehicle, stop and flee on foot across Scranton Avenue toward Canterbury Gate. Two other police officers on Canterbury Gate observed a 2007 Infiniti with a Pennsylvania registration, fail to signal a left turn so they conducted a vehicle and traffic law stop. 

Both defendants were inside this vehicle that contained the stolen key fob, stolen floor mats, an owner’s manual and the switched tires and rims from the 2010 Infiniti.  The proceeds were valued over $52,000

The defendents were each charged with one count of Grand Larceny 2nd Degree.  They were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 24.

Burglary

On Oct. 12 at 2:57 p.m., an unknown suspect entered through an unlocked side bedroom window of a home on Cammerer Avenue in East Rockaway. According to police, two wallets containing department store credit cards and $6800 USC were taken. The complainant’s 12-year-old son and a neighbor observed a Black male in his early 20s in another neighbor’s yard and around the complainant’s property.

Criminal mischief

On Oct 10 at 6 a.m., an unknown person broke the rear passenger-side window of a 2002 Honda parked on Glennwood Avenue in Lynbrook.

On Oct 17 at 9 p.m., a complainant’s Halloween decorations were vandalized on Cammerer Avenue in East Rockaway. According to police, there is an on-going dispute between the complainant and her tenant, who is a suspect in the incident.

Graffiti

On Oct. 18 at 8 p.m., a complainant found graffiti on his 2009 Ford Explorer parked behind the East Rockaway Fire Department on Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway. According to police, the suspects used magic markers on the vehicle.
