People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Three charged with burglary of home

Three arrests for burglary were made by Fifth Squad detectives for an incident that occurred in Franklin Square on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.

According to detectives, Sean Kelly, 30, of Elmont, entered a residence on Bernice Road through a rear unlocked door, while Nicholas Milbank, 20, of Franklin Square, and Lisa Caronia, 25, of East Rockaway, waited outside in a vehicle. 

While inside the home, Kelly took a jar of coins valued at $48.05, police said, along with a Sony Snap Shot camera and an Ipod, fleeing the scene into the waiting vehicle. They were arrested on Hempstead Tpke. and Belmont Blvd. in Elmont, after police performed a car stop and observed the camera and coins in the auto. 

Kelly, Milbank and Caronia were each charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and were arraigned on Sept. 10 in First District Court, Hempstead.

Arrests

n On Sept. 6, Pablo Pais, 40, of Massaqequa Park, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

n On Sept. 9, Sean Findlay, 31, of Beltsville, Maryland, was arrested after he attempted to pass counterfeit $100 bills at stores located on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. He was charged with possession of counterfeit money, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. He was found with five counterfeit $100 bills in his possession and kicked a police officer during the arrest. 

n On Sept. 11, Timothy Pirello, 34, of Lynbrook, was arrested after he harassed teenagers and threw a bottle at them while on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. He was charged with aggravated harassment and menacing. 

Burglary

On Sept 11, Police found a broken window at 3:30 a.m. at the bagel store located at 8 Ocean Ave. The investigation disclosed that a burglary had occurred and money was stolen out of the register.
