Island resident awarded for essay by East Rockaway VFW Post 3350

Patrick Zezulinski of Island Park, center, was presented with an award during the East Rockaway VFW Robert F. Garrison Post 3350 “Voice of Democracy” awards dinner recently.

Patrick is the winner of the “Voice of Democracy Contest,” sponsored by the United States Veterans of Foreign Wars. A home schooled student, Patrick won the scholarship based on his essay on the selected topic “Does America Still Have Heroes?”
