East Rockaway BOE says NO to 'Princeton Plan'

Decision made based on budgetary issues, says superintendent

The East Rockaway Board of Education has decided not to go ahead with the proposed "Princeton Plan" that would have possibly involved changing the two elementary schools -- Centre Avenue and Rhame Avenue -- from neighborhood schools to grade-oriented schools. Superintendent Roseanne Melucci made the announcement to a packed house at the regular board of education meeting held in the Harry Bunting Auditorium in the high school on Ocean Avenue at 7:30 p.m.
