East Rockaway schools to discuss elementary school redistricting

On Thurs. Jan. 19, The East Rockaway Board of Education will host the first of four meetings to present to the public the results of a report that determined the feasibility and instructional impact of restructuring the two elementary schools from two K-6 buildings into K-2 and 3-6 or K-3 and 4-6 buildings by spring 2012.

The public will have a chance to weigh in on the results on the 19th at the East Rockaway High School Auditorium, 7 p.m.; on Tues., Jan. 31 at Rhame Avenue School, 7 p.m.; on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Centre Avenue School, 7 p.m.; and on Mon. Feb. 6, in the East Rockaway High School auditorium, 7 p.m. The results will also be available on the District’s website at www.eastrockawayschools.org.
