East Rockaway youth coalition gets donation from Kiwanians

At their last monthly meeting the Coalition for Youth in East Rockaway was presented with a check for $1500 from Ethel Gilloon and Carmine Tufano, members of the East Rockaway Kiwanis club.  The money was all of the proceeds from the Pasta Night that the Kiwanis club held at Bethany Church recently.

  “It was such a wonderful surprise to have the support of the Kiwanis Club because they are such a wonderful group of caring people,” said Theresa Barto, president of the Coalition. “In our small village of East Rockaway, our youth deserve to have wonderful places and programs in which to partake. With the help of organizations and people, like the Kiwanis club, we can create the programs needed to keep our youth on a positive path.”  Barto added that the organization is true to the meaning of their name: Kiwanis means “We Share our talents.”
