Logo contest winners

When the Coalition for Youth in East Rockaway, in conjunction with the Herald newspapers, ran a contest for local students to design a logo for the Coalition, no one realized how much artistic talent was about to unfold. After pouring over the colorful and imaginative entries, the winner was Andrew Machovec, above center, a fourth-grader at Rhame Avenue Elementary, with his “hand in hand” design. Katelyn Reddy, left, a third-grader at Rhame, took second place, and Sienna Apice, at right, a student at St. Raymonds, won third place. The three proud winners are pictured above with member of the Coalition, their families and Herald representatives.
