A 40-year-old Lynbrook man, pulling into his Peninsula Boulevard driveway early last Saturday morning, was forced back into his car by two gun-wielding men and ordered to drive to his bank’s ATM machine to withdraw cash, police reported.

According to detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s 5th Squad, the incident occurred at 12:20 a.m. The men, armed with a handgun and a submachine gun, got into the front and rear passenger seats of the victim’s car, pointed the weapons at his head and told him to drive to his bank, police said. He drove to a Citibank branch near the intersection of Merrick Road and Broadway and withdrew $200.

The men then ordered the victim to drive to Concord Street and Dawes Avenue. There, according to police, they forced him out of the car and led him to a gray Nissan sedan parked near Concord and North Prospect Avenue, which was occupied by two other people. All four subjects drove the victim to a Chase Bank branch at 163 Merrick Road in Valley Stream and ordered him to withdraw more cash, police said, but he was unable to, having reached his withdrawal limit.

The foursome then drove the man to Roosevelt Avenue and Mill Road in Valley Stream, where they took his wallet, keys and cell phone. After letting him out of the car, they returned his phone SIM card to him. The victim then notified the police. No injuries were reported.

One of the robbers was described as a male Indian with a West Indian accent, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 with a thin build and a dark complexion, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and armed with a handgun.

A second man was described as black, also with a West Indian accent, 20 to 30, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and armed with a submachine gun.

The driver of the Nissan was described as a black man with a light complexion and a short fade haircut. His passenger was a female Indian with a West Indian accent, 20 to 25 with a medium complexion, an average build and long, straight, black hair.
