The Lynbrook Police Department, in partnership with Lynbrook Cub Scout Pack #85, hosted an “Operation Medicine Cabinet” event at Lynbrook’s Greis Park on October 1. This program gave residents the opportunity to dispose of expired, unused or unwanted prescription and O.T.C. drugs in an environmentally safe manner.

“The program was a huge success. With the help of Lynbrook Cub Scout Pack #85, we were able to collect over 225 containers of unneeded / unwanted drugs,” said Chief Joseph Neve of the Lynbrook Police Department. “Although legal, these medications have the potential to cause just as much harm as any illegal drug when abused, and the Lynbrook Police Department has made it a priority to remove them from the community.”
